Lunch is served every day 11-14.00 at Rydals Herrgård for SEK 145 for participants in the party. Book a table.

We are also keeping the kiosk open this weekend for a simpler and faster alternative to a Herrgård's lunch inside our dining rooms. There will be tents where you can sit and eat.

Swedish craft beer lecture and beer tasting
If you are already coming to Rydal on Friday 11 October, we would like to welcome you to one of several events linked to Rydals Museum's fascinating exhibitions
Food: More than a meal and The Settler. This week a lecture on creative entrepreneurship and the importance of place and social relationships for food & drink heritage.
After the talk, everyone is welcome to come along to Herrgården to get a presentation of beer from Hemgården's brewery and participate in beer tasting. The lecture is free, but the beer tasting costs SEK 150 and is paid at Herrgården Book here: https://www.rydalsherrgard.se/boka-bord

We turn our Manor into a Bavarian beer hall and hold one Oktoberfest!
At the beer taps stands none other than brewmaster Mathias, pouring his October beer from Hemgården! Our Brass Orchestra has really this time promised to come to play ompaompa while we promise a genuinely nice atmosphere!
Practice the Bird Dance and dress up in lederhosen, Tyrolean hat and dirndl if you want!

In the Association of International Weaving Centre's premises located inside the factory farm, you can try carding and spinning wool together with the Seglora Hembygdsförening! Also shows how to card and spin wool on a spinner. No registration is required and there is no age limit. There will be some breaks from time to time. Materials are available to try on. In the weaving center's premises, there is also Lincentrum Strömmared and De sjuhäradernas hemslöjdsförening, which will show and tell about linen. Included in the entrance ticket.

Lecture "Research on knitting and mental illness"
Joanna Nordstrand Leg, occupational therapist and doctoral student at the University of Gothenburg, has researched how knitting is not only soothing but also a sense of security, increasing belief in one's own abilities and providing a social context. Finally, the advantages of knitting as a creative activity are discussed.

Hemslöjdkonsulterna VGR is co-organizer of Stick and Spinnfest in Rydal. Join us for the yarn-themed Pubquiz at Rydal's manor 5:30 p.m., 12 October.
Gather your yarn friends and test your knitting skills! Homework consultant Hillevi Skoglund has posted slightly far-fetched but hardly pleasant questions on the topic. Of course, there will be great prizes for the winners.
The quiz is part of Stick and Spinnfest in Rydal. Tea, coffee or wine and light refreshments are served while there is quizzes and knitting

West Swedish championship in flax spinning
During Stick and Spinnfesten you can compete, or watch the competition where the participants have to spin as long and even a line of linen as possible. May the best thread win!
