Magical and authentic feeling in a unique setting!

Welcome to Rydal Museum and Sweden's best preserved cotton spinning mill. Rydal Museum offers so much more than a museum visit. It is a total experience with several senses. The spinning machines are still here and we spin yarn on our machinery.

We tell the history of the region and show temporary exhibitions with different focuses. At our museum, all senses are involved and both young and old will find something fascinating.

An interactive exhibition

In Rydal Museum's main exhibition TEXTIL MARK - The history of Rydal and the textile village in Mark you can use projections, animations, sound and light design and interactive activities to live in the time when this area became a centre for textile trade and textile manufacturing. In a living environment where people are in focus, you will learn about the history of the Rydal spinning mill and the community that grew up around the factory.

For families with children, the museum's mascot NystANN helps to make the exhibition fun for younger visitors.
